How is it that I have lived 34 years and have never heard of the chaffle before until recently? I was talking to a friend about the StressLess Lifestyle and how it works with carb cycling and being cyclical with your diet. You see, in the StressLess Lifestyle 6-week cycles, we are able to hit various goals without restricting ourselves from foods and still enjoy eating what we want as long as it fits within our personalized macros. We alternate our macro nutrient levels (proteins, carbs, and fats) which is calculated to our own personal lifestyle, health, and wellness goals, by having higher carb days with leaner fats while other days are higher in fats and lower in carbs. She then asked if I had ever heard of a “Chaffle” before which would be great for hitting those protein numbers and even better for those higher fat days.
So what is it exactly? IT. IS. THE. MOST. DELICIOUS. THING. EVER! And perfect for our higher fat days or even for the leaner days (if you use egg whites only) but when I still need to hit my protein numbers. The most basic one that you can make is literally only two ingredients: eggs and cheese. And if you are tired of eating eggs, this meal or snack is perfect because it really doesn't taste much like egg at all! It tastes way more like a cheesy waffle than eggs. I love to top mine with some microgreens and the original Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. All you need other than those few ingredients is a mini waffle maker and you are set!

The StressLess Chaffle with Microgreens

Ingredients
2 large eggs OR ½ cup of egg whites
⅓ cup shredded cheese blend
Micro-greens
Optional: Franks Red Hot Sauce Original
*A mini waffle maker is needed LINKED HERE
Instructions
Whisk together eggs and shredded cheese for 1-2 minutes
Spray the preheated waffle maker with non stick cooking spray and pour in only about a ⅓ of the egg & cheese mixture. It should only cover about half of the waffle maker. The egg will expand as it cooks
Follow your waffle maker’s instructions for how long to cook. Typically there is a self timer or temp control on the waffle maker and a light will either blink on or off when desired time has been met.
Remove chaffle and steps 2 and 3 until there is no more mixture left.
Top the Chaffles with micro-greens and spice things up with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce as desired.
Notes
The cheese blend I use is a mexican or fiesta blend. Also, if you would like to replace only one of the 2 large eggs with egg whites, use 1/4 cup of egg whites with 1 large egg instead. Another delicious topping to add instead of Franks Red Hot Sauce is Salsa Verde.
